Lactic/Glycolic Combination Peels

FOR AHA SKIN PEELS INCLUDING GLYCOLIC ACID, LACTIC ACID AND COMBINATION PEELS

  • Combination peels contain both glycolic acid and lactic acid in one formula. They are designed to give the deep exfoliation and oil-controlling benefits of glycolic acid while also delivering the hydrating and brightening properties of lactic acid.

  • These peels are often ideal for people who have multiple skin concerns — such as breakouts, uneven tone, and dryness — or for those who want effective resurfacing without moving too quickly to a high-strength single-acid peel.

  • Not necessarily. The strength depends on the percentage of each acid and the overall formulation. A combination peel is not automatically “stronger” but instead provides a balanced effect — exfoliation, hydration, and brightening in one treatment.

    • Smoother skin texture and refined pores (from glycolic acid)

    • Improved hydration and plumpness (from lactic acid)

    • Brighter, more even skin tone

    • Reduction in mild hyperpigmentation and fine lines

    • Balanced treatment that suits a wider range of skin types

  • They can be, especially if you start with a lower strength. Lactic acid has hydrating, soothing properties that make the peel gentler than glycolic alone. However, a patch test is still essential before first use.

  • Yes. Just like single-acid peels, start with the lowest strength available and build gradually. Even though lactic acid helps buffer the glycolic, the peel is still an active treatment and should be introduced carefully.

  • Not always. Some customers prefer single-acid peels to target one specific concern (e.g. glycolic for acne, lactic for dry skin). Combination peels are more of an “all-rounder,” but you may still find single-acid treatments more effective for specific needs.
